Kathy Yoo

We recently moved here from Chicago area. Back then I always went to a nice Korean salon to get my hair straightened. But the last couple times when I went there, they always had to do it twice for the hair to stay straight, huge waste of time since every treatment took at least 3 hours.

I am happy to report that when Kathy did my hair, it stayed straight after the first treatment. She uses the best brand name products, and is very skilled with what she does. I love the nice intimate room she has too, made me feel comfortable and happy.

Kathy did a wonderful job with my digital perm today! Her salon is clean and stylish. She made me feel at ease throughout the entire 3 hour process and explained each step when I asked.  I also didn't feel obligated to chat with her the entire time, which is important when you are just trying to get away and relax.  I was really impressed by her attention to detail and she spent a significant amount of time trying to understand what I wanted before even washing my hair.  The outcome was terrific and on par with previous perms I have had in big cities like Chicago.  

We are so lucky to have her in the KC area!  Thank you Kathy!

This is a hair salon that is owned by a Korean. 
My friend recommended this place. What I got done was a haircut and a digital perm. Can you believe that we can have a digital perm in Overland Park???  The owner, Kathy, is very knowledgeable and helpful on what the customer wants. The service overall was great! I would definitely coming back for my hair done!!

Very happy with my hair done by Kathy.
I got the Japanese straight perm (+ hair cut) here and it was the same as what I got back in Korea! If you are looking for a Korean style haircut or perm, this is the place to go. The owner (Kathy) does the job alone without any help from assistants. You will get her FULL attention throughout the entire process. She did my hair for 5+ hours. I really appreciate her service and care. My hair is thick, coarse, frizzy, and somewhat damaged, and now I finally got silky and shiny hair. She said she is actually better known for her digital perm, so you may also want to try out the digital perm here. I also liked the way she cut my hair.

Kathy was nice and very friendly but overall I was extremely disappointed with the haircut. I'm not sure where we went wrong but I thought she had understood I only wanted the sides cut and to leave it long on top. She ended up cutting off all the hair that I'd recently permed which wouldn't have been the worst on it's own, but the rest of the haircut was something strange enough that I had to ask her to fix in some areas. I feel like she's probably very skilled and I hope this place does well, but if you decide to try this place out, make sure you communicate and she understands what style you want.

Finally!! I found a place where I can do Korean style digital perm in overland park! I am so happy to find this place.  The lady is very nice and friendly.  I was looking for a place to do asian style perm for so long and finally found one. I would definitely recommend this to my friends.

This is my first review and visit to Kathy Yoo's hair salon.
When I moved to KC 6 years ago, I couldn't find any place to get my hair done the way I wanted, but I finally found a place I was looking for.
When I visited Kathy's salon,
I got a hair cut first and then a digital perm. She is very professional at layer cut and digital perm.
After my digital perm, l am completely satisfied with my curls.
The curls came out exactly the way what I wanted. I am so happy!
Her equipments are new and updated, and the shop is in a great location.
She is very kind and good with communication.
I highly recommend her and will definitely come back.

Kathy is the best in the area. Hands down! I recently got a Japanese hair straightening treatment and I absolutely loved it. She took her time and you could tell the results showed just that. I even drove 4.5 hours just to come to her after the reviews on yelp and I'm so glad I found her! She is also so kind and generous!
